Thriller satellite rights sold for 1.45 crores

The satellite rights of Prithviraj’s B. Unnikrishnan directed Thriller (Malayalam) have been acquired by a yet-to-be-launched TV channel owned by Manorama News for a whopping Rs 1.45 crores, creating a new record in Prithviraj's career.

Normally, the TV screening rights of a Prithviraj solo film are sold only for Rs. 75 to 85 lakhs, but this time Thriller fetched this record price. Sources say this took place due to Prithviraj’s newfound star status after the runaway hit of ace Mani Ratnam's Raavanan in which the actor played a cop opposite Vikram.
